To develop a material (antimicrobial material) in which an antimicrobial substance such as polyethylenimine or a multivalent cationic antimicrobial agent is caused to bond to a water-insoluble carrier in a stable form, the material removing, by adsorption, microbial cells in an aqueous solution continuously over a long period of time. Provided are: a microbial cell adsorbent which is a conjugate obtained by causing polyethylenimine having a molecular weight of 200-1,000,000 to bond to a water-insoluble carrier, the conjugate adsorbing microbial cells; and a method for manufacturing the microbial cell adsorbent. Also provided are: a microbial cell adsorbent which is a conjugate obtained by causing a multivalent cationic antimicrobial agent to bond to a water-insoluble carrier, the conjugate adsorbing microbial cells; and a method for manufacturing the microbial cell adsorbent. |
