abstract |
Disclosed is a novel means whereby the prognosis of a patient with cancer or an inflammatory disease can be predicted. The method according to the present invention for predicting the prognosis of a patient with cancer or an inflammatory disease comprises measuring the expression amount of FROUNT gene in a specimen collected from the patient. The FROUNT gene is a bad prognosis factor. Thus, the prognosis of the patient is predicted to be better with a decrease in the expression amount of the FROUNT gene. Alternatively, the expression amount of a CC chemokine receptor/ligand gene in a specimen collected from the patient is measured. A CC chemokine receptor (for example, CCR2 or CCR5)/ligand gene is a good prognosis factor. Thus, the prognosis of the patient is predicted to be better with an increase in the expression amount of the CC chemokine receptor/ligand gene. |
