The invention relates to the field of organic synthesis, and more particularly to a method of producing N,N-disubstituted aminomethylstyrenes or α-aminomethylstyrenes of general formula (I), which includes reacting a secondary amine of general formula (II) with a vinylbenzylhalide or with an α-halomethylstyrene of general formula (III) in a two-phase system, in an alkaline environment, in an atmosphere of inert gas in the presence of a catalyst, comprised of iodides of ammonium or phosphonium compounds, and an antioxidant, making it possible to produce a compound of general formula (I) with high yields and a high conversion of the initial reagents, and also to reduce the duration of the process. Furthermore, the claimed method makes it possible to reduce the amount of catalyst used, to obviate the need to use expensive catalysts and equipment and labour-intensive and resource-consuming methods for isolating and purifying the target compounds, and to reduce the amount of initial reagents used. |
