titleOfInvention Method for glycolysis of polyethylene terephthalate in two reaction steps
abstract The invention relates to a method for glycolysis of PET in two reaction steps, comprising at least the following steps: a) a dissolution step comprising a reaction section fed by at least PET, ethylene glycol, a fraction of the solid flow coming from step b) and a fraction of the effluent from step c), the mass ratio of ethylene glycol to PET feeding into said reaction section being between 1 and 50, said reaction section being operated at a temperature between 100 and 300 °C and at an absolute pressure between 0.1 and 6 MPa; b) a liquid-solid separation step of the effluent from step a) into a liquid flow and a solid flow; c) a glycolysis step fed by at least the liquid flow coming from step b) comprising a reaction section, operated in the presence of a heterogeneous catalyst, at a temperature between 100 and 300 °C, at a pressure between 0.1 and 6 MPa, and at a total PPH between 0.1 and 100 h -1 and producing a glycolysis effluent; d) a purification step fed by at least a fraction of the glycolysis effluent from step c) and producing at least one effluent containing BHET.
