abstract The present invention provides an alignment film of a syndiotactic polystyrene-based resin, the film achieving excellent suppression of the occurrence of heat damage caused by wrinkles resulting from a high-temperature heat treatment. More specifically, provided is an alignment film made of a resin composition which includes a styrene-based polymer of a syndiotactic structure as a main resin component and which includes a thermoplastic non-crystalline resin having a glass transition temperature of 130°C or higher, the alignment film having a heat shrinkage rate of 5.0% or less in the in-plane direction when heat treated for 30 minutes at 130°C, and a heat shrinkage rate of 6.5% or more in at least one direction of the in-plane direction when heat treated for 10 minutes at 200°C.
