abstract |
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a binder composition for a positive electrode of a lithium-ion rechargeable battery, said composition reducing the internal resistance of the lithium-ion rechargeable battery and providing superior longevity characteristics. The binder composition contains a water-soluble polymer X and water. The water-soluble polymer X includes structural units derived from an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid compound (A) comprising 20.0 mass% to 79.5 mass%, and structural units derived from a copolymerizable compound (B) having an ethylenically unsaturated bond, said compound comprising 20.0 mass% to 79.5 mass% and having an aqueous solubility at 20°C of at least 7 g/100 g. In addition, the water-soluble polymer X has an electrolyte degree of swelling of less than 120%, and a pH of less than 7.0 at a solid content concentration of 1 mass%. |
