abstract |
Provided is a pneumatic tire that has an inner circumferential surface lined with an inner liner member (1) with an at least three layer structure comprising a film (2) principally comprising a thermoplastic resin or a thermoplastic elastomer composition including a blend of thermoplastic resin and elastomer and rubber sheets (3A and 3B) layered on both sides of the film, and that has a lap-spliced section (4) whereat the tire circumferential end portions of the film (2) overlap each other across the rubber sheets (3A and 3B), wherein the tire is free of problems such as the bonded portion of the lap-spliced section (4) opening up as a result of bonding thereat becoming undone due to peeling or the like when the tire is inflated during vulcanization, or cracks forming in the vicinity of the lap-spliced section after vehicle travel due to the bonded portion opening up. The rubber sheet (3A) on the tire cavity side of the inner liner member (1) positioned on the tire cavity side of the lap-spliced section (4) is formed so as to be shorter in length in the tire circumferential direction than the adjacent film (2). |
