The disclosure concerns refining crude oil to produce a first plurality of streams comprising one or more of offgas, naphtha, liquefied petroleum, C3 and C4 olefins, processing at least a portion of the first plurality of streams to produce one or more streams comprising one or more of propylene, ethylene, butadiene, and offgas; reacting the ethylene and the offgas to produce streams comprising one or more of hydrogen, syngas, and polyethylene; processing one or more of the vacuum gas oil and the naphtha with a fluid catalytic cracker to produce a stream comprising propylene; reacting benzene with the propylene to produce cumene, reacting the cumene to produce phenol and acetone; reacting phenol and acetone to produce bisphenol A; contacting carbon monoxide, oxygen and methanol to produce dimethyl carbonate; reacting dimethyl carbonate and phenol to produce diphenyl carbonate; and reacting diphenyl carbonate with bisphenol A to produce polycarbonate. |
