The present utility model describes an isoelastic femoral stem made of polymer for hip prostheses. The novelty is a differentiated femoral stem design made of polyether ether ketone (PEEK), a commercially available biomaterial which has very similar properties to those of human bone and withstands a fatigue test which simulates stress conditions to which a stem must be mechanically subjected in order to be approved for use. The stem can also be made of polymers having less mechanical strength than PEEK, as shown by tests carried out with nylon polymer (TECAST-L). |
