abstract Provided are a luminescent material which includes a deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) with a more stable structure, and a display device using the same. To this end, the luminescent material according to one aspect of the present invention comprises a DNA, a lipid compound that electrostatically binds to a phosphate group of the DNA, and a luminescent substance. Further, in this aspect, the lipid compound in the luminescent material preferably includes a quaternary ammonium salt having 10 or more carbon atoms, but is not limited thereto. Furthermore, in this aspect, the weight of the DNA and lipid compound in the luminescent material is preferably in a range of 1 or more and less than 10 when the weight of the luminescent substance is 1, but is not limited thereto. Additionally, the display device according to another aspect of the present invention comprises a pair of substrates, and a luminescent material held between the pair of substrates, the luminescent material including a DNA, a lipid compound that electrostatically binds to a phosphate group of the DNA, and a luminescent substance.
