[Problem] To provide a method for producing an epoxy compound by reacting hydrogen peroxide with an olefin compound, wherein a hydrogen peroxide stabilizer for suppressing the generation of oxygen generated from the hydrogen peroxide is used to stably and safely produce the epoxy compound. [Solution] A method for producing an epoxy compound by reacting hydrogen peroxide with an olefin compound, wherein the reaction is performed in the presence of an organic phosphorous compound in a reaction medium retaining a pH in the range of over 7.5 and under 12.0. The olefin compound can be 1,3,5-tris(alkenyl)isocyanurate. The alkenyl group in the olefin compound can be a 3-butenyl group, a 4-pentenyl group, a 5-hexenyl group, a 6-heptenyl group, or a 7-octenyl group. The epoxy compound can be 1,3,5-tris(epoxyalkyl)isocyanurate. The reaction medium can retain a pH in the range of 8.0-10.5. |
