titleOfInvention Water desalination installation
abstract The utility model relates to the field of water treatment and purification, and specifically to methods for separating solutions of chemical compounds with the help of semipermeable membranes, and particularly to devices for electrodialysis desalination of natural and industrial water, and can be used in the chemical, petroleum-processing, food, pharmaceutical and other related fields of industry, in thermal power plants, and also in public services. Proposed is an installation for the desalination of aqueous solutions containing sulfate ions and calcium ions with the help of electrodialysis in an electrodialysis metathesis mode, including separately feeding, into a cell for electrodialysis metathesis, a solution to undergo desalination and a sodium chloride solution, conducting electrodialysis, and evacuating, from the cell, purified water and concentrates of calcium chloride and sodium sulfate, wherein the concentrates produced during electrodialysis metathesis are mixed, the formed precipitate is separated-off, and a solution containing sodium chloride is recirculated. The obtained results have shown that the use of the claimed invention provides a more than fivefold reduction in sodium chloride consumption.
