abstract | The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a polycarboxylic acid which is volatilized to a lesser extent and exhibits excellent curability during curing, can be cured into a cured article having excellent transparency and hardness, enables the cured article to have a satisfactorily improved glass transition temperature and excellent moldability, and can prevent the cured article from undergoing discoloration to a large extent; a polycarboxylic acid composition, an epoxy resin composition and a heat-curable resin composition, each of which contains the polycarboxylic acid; cured products of the compositions; and an optical semiconductor device. The polycarboxylic acid according to the present invention is represented by formula (1) (wherein R 1 's independently represent an alkylene group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms and R 6 's independently represent a hydrogen atom or an organic group containing a carboxyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, in which the multiple R 1 's may be the same as or different from one another and the multiple R 6 's may be the same as or different from one another, and the organic group containing a carboxyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms makes up 50 mol% or more of the multiple R 6 's). |
