An embodiment of the present invention is an endoscope system equipped with an illumination unit, a color-component-ratio measuring unit, and a light-level-ratio adjusting unit. The illumination unit sequentially or simultaneously irradiates an observation subject with illumination beams, which are a plurality of narrow-band beams having different wavelengths from each other, and allowing light levels thereof to be controlled independently of each other. The color-component-ratio measuring unit measures the color-component ratio of the illumination beams. The light-level-ratio adjusting unit adjusts the light-level ratio of the narrow-band beams on the basis of outputs from the color-component-ratio measuring unit, and corrects the light-level ratio so that the illumination beams reach a desired color. In addition, an embodiment of the present invention is an endoscope light-source device equipped with a light source unit, a color-component-ratio measuring unit, and a light-level-ratio adjusting unit. |
