titleOfInvention | Processing of deactivated ionic liquids |
abstract | The present disclosure relates to a process for separating the cationic and anionic components from deactivated ionic liquids. The process includes reacting the deactivated ionic liquid with 8-hydroxyquinoline to precipitate the anionic component, separating the precipitate followed by extracting the deactivating components from the cationic component. The anionic precipitate and the deactivating component free cationic component are subsequently recovered and reused for different applications. The ionic liquid can be reconstituted from the cationic component and another anionic component for use as a fresh ionic liquid. |
