abstract The present invention relates to a portable device for detecting the presence of elements having an ice producing activity, in at least one sample (E). The portable device (1) has a refrigeration unit (2) comprising - a thermally insulated chamber (3) having at least two locations (8) which are each suitable for receiving a receptacle (M) containing one of said samples (E), - means (4) for refrigeration of said chamber (3), - means (5) for measurement of the temperature, - means (6) for regulation of a target temperature within said chamber (3), - means (7) for autonomous electrical power supply of said refrigeration unit (2), - and means (6) for signalling the attainment of said target temperature. According to the invention, said locations (8) each have dimensions suitable, allowing for clearance, for receiving said receptacle (M) consisting of a microtube (M).
