abstract Provided is a cyclic azine compound represented by general formula (1) providing a specific cyclic azine compound with which it is possible to achieve improved performance of organic electroluminescent devices to a greater extent than with conventional, known cyclic azine compounds. (In general formula (1), Ar 1 are the same as each other and represent a C6-10 aromatic hydrocarbon group optionally substituted by a C1-4 alkyl group, fluorine atom, phenyl group, or pyridyl group. Ar 2 represents a C10-17 condensed ring aromatic hydrocarbon group optionally substituted by a C1-4 alkyl group or a fluorine atom. Ar 3 represents a C6-17 aromatic hydrocarbon group optionally substituted by a C1-4 alkyl group or fluorine, or a heteroaromatic group configured from only a C4-9 6-membered ring optionally substituted by a C1-4 alkyl group or a fluorine atom. X represents a phenylene group, azaphenylene group, or diazaphenylene group optionally substituted by a C1-4 alkyl group or a fluorine atom. Y represents CH or a nitrogen atom. p represents an integer of 1-3. q represents an integer of 0-3.)
