A method for producing a surface-treated phosphor covered with a surface-treatment layer for coating the surface of an alkaline earth silicate phosphor containing an alkaline earth metal silicate. The method for producing a surface-treated phosphor includes a surface treatment for forming a surface-treatment layer on the surface of an alkaline earth silicate phosphor by bringing the alkaline earth silicate phosphor and at least one type of surface-treatment substance selected from the group consisting of sulfates, phosphates, carbonates, borate salts, boric acid, titanates, and fluorides into contact in the presence of at least one type of polyhydric alcohol selected from the group consisting of diols and triols. |
