Provided is a lithium ion secondary cell having exceptional input characteristics and safety characteristics. A lithium ion secondary cell in which a liquid electrolyte and an electrode group that has a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a separator are provided in a cell container, wherein the positive electrode has a collector and a positive electrode mixture applied on both surfaces of the collector, the positive electrode mixture contains a laminar lithium nickel manganese cobalt composite oxide as a positive electrode active material, the amount of the positive electrode mixture applied on one surface is 110-170 g/m 2 , the density of the positive electrode mixture is 2.5-2.8 g/cm 3 , the negative electrode has a collector and a negative electrode mixture applied on both surfaces of the collector, and the negative electrode mixture contains readily graphitizable carbon as a negative electrode active material. |
