Provided is a novel material which is able to be an active material.nA method for producing a material in which a boron-containing part having a B-Ni bond, a B-Co bond or a B-Mn bond is formed on the surface of a lithium composite metal oxide that has a layered rock salt structure and is represented by general formula LiaNibCocMndDeOf (wherein 0.2 ≤ a ≤ 2; b + c + d + e = 1; 0 ≤ e < 1; D represents at least one element that is selected from among Fe, Cr, Cu, Zn, Ca, Mg, Zr, S, Si, Na, K, Al, Ti, P, Ga, Ge, V, Mo, Nb, W, La, Hf and Rf; and 1.7 ≤ f ≤ 3). This method is characterized by comprising:n(a) a step for preparing the lithium composite metal oxide;n(b) a step for preparing a dispersion liquid wherein the lithium composite metal oxide is dispersed in a boron compound solution;n(c) a step for having a boron compound adhere to the surface of the lithium composite metal oxide by decreasing the liquid temperature of the dispersion liquid; andn(d) a step for heating the lithium composite metal oxide after the step (c) at a temperature of 400°C or more. |
