titleOfInvention | Method for modifying pancreatic islet surface by means of polyethylene glycol synthetic material and surface-modified pancreatic islet using same |
abstract | The present invention relates to a method in which lipid and DOPA are synthesized with 6-arm PEG, DOPA is synthesized with gelatin, the lipid solubility of lipid is used and thereby lipid is induced to interfere and bind between surface cell phospholipid layers of the pancreatic islet of a pig, and by using a covalent bond between DOPA and SH the surface of a pancreatic islet membrane of a pig is modified through a bond between 6-arm PEG-SH, DOPA, gelatin-DOPA and linear PEG-SH. The present invention, compared to a pure pancreatic islet that has not been given any treatment, does not show changes in pancreatic islet shape, insulin secretion and cell survivability, and by confirming the increasing of maintenance time for blood glucose concentration, stability and viability of pancreatic islet can be enhanced, thereby being effectively used in a pancreatic islet transplant. |
