The purpose of the present invention is to provide a low-cost and high-yield production method for 1,1,2-tribromoethane. The present invention provides a 1,1,2-tribromoethane production method that includes a step (A) wherein 1,1,2-tribromoethane is obtained by brominating a 1,1,2-trihaloethane that is represented by general formula (1).
