abstract The present invention relates to a detection method of an image horizontal gravitation direction, the method comprising: selecting equidistant sampling points in an image by using the sampling circle radius of a focus of attention detector as an interval; placing the center of the sampling circle of the focus of attention detector on each sampling point, using the focus of attention detector to acquire focus of attention coordinates and a corresponding significant orientation corner, all focus of attention coordinates and corresponding significant orientation corners constituting a set Ω p ; using direction perceptron to determine a local orientation and weight at the focus of attention according to gray scale image information, and generating a local direction function; the sum of the local direction functions is an image direction function; obtaining a function M CGCS (beta), and further obtaining horizontal gravitation identification opposite angles. The detection method of an image horizontal gravitation direction of the present invention has a high processing speed and good effect, and is suitable for direction detection of images with the presence of actual gravitation or perceived gravitation, such as painting, natural image, text and the like.
