Provided is a chain such that an alloy coating film that suppresses reactions with iron is formed at the surface, the coating film that forms the alloy coating film has favorable adhesiveness, is strong, and is uniform, post-assembly maintenance is not necessary, and chemical resistance is favorably maintained. The chain (10) is provided with an inner plate (11), a bushing (12), an outer plate (13), a connecting pin (14), and a roller (15). Each constituent component has: a zinc-aluminum-magnesium alloy coating film formed by means of mechanical plating on an iron-based substrate; and, on the zinc-aluminum-magnesium alloy coating film, a coating film that contains zinc and barium sulfate and results from curing at least one resin selected from the group consisting of a urethane resin, an epoxy resin, and an acrylic resin. |
