titleOfInvention Flat secondary battery
abstract A flat secondary battery characterized by: comprising a laminated power generation element and a pair of exterior members, said laminated power generation element having a plurality of plate-shaped electrodes laminated via a separator and said pair of exterior members being formed in a rectangular shape that seals the laminated power generation element and an electrolyte and has long sides and short sides as viewed from the lamination direction of the plurality of electrodes; at least one exterior member out of the pair of exterior members having a contact section including a contact surface that comes in contact with an uppermost layer electrode being positioned on the uppermost layer among the plurality of electrodes, a sealing section that is overlapped by the exterior members at a position on the external perimeter of the exterior members, and an extension section that extends from the contact section to the sealing section; and by fulfilling 1 ≤ L A /L B ≤ 2. In a first cross-section formed by cutting the flat battery along a surface parallel to the long sides and along the lamination direction thereof, L A is the average length of a pair of extension sections positioned at both ends in a direction parallel to the long sides. In a second cross-section formed by cutting the flat battery along a surface parallel to the short sides and along the lamination direction, L B is the average length of a pair of extension sections positioned at both ends in a direction parallel to the short sides.
