titleOfInvention Nuclear reactor
abstract [Problem] To provide a nuclear reactor that has a simpler structure and is safer by eliminating the need for a fuel exchange device and a control rod drive device. [Solution] A nuclear reactor has rod-shaped reactor cores (10) formed from metallic fuel and having maximum cross sectional widths (D) of 1 meter, a coolant (30) that is heated by the reactor cores and caused to undergo convection, and a nuclear reactor vessel (40) for accommodating the reactor cores (10) and the coolant (30), and is characterized in that a plurality of the reactor cores (10) are provided in the nuclear reactor vessel.
