abstract Disclosed in embodiments of the present invention are a method for data transmission and a communication system entity for implementing the method. A UE device and an eNB device calculate the number of the precoding matrix layers in horizontal direction and in vertical direction according to the number of antenna ports and the value of a rank indicator and determine the precoding matrix used in transmission to avoid continuous feedback of the number of the precoding matrix layers in horizontal direction and in vertical direction and save the channel resources.
