abstract |
A reactor system for the treatment of a gas stream to lower the total content of sulfur compounds to a maximum value of 10-20 ppmw consists of three fixed-bed reactors: A pre- hydrogenating reactor R1 for pre-treating di-olefins, a hy- drogenating reactor R2 and a post-treating reactor used for reacting traces of COS. The pre-hydrogenating reactor R1 can be omitted if the content of di-olefins in the feed gas is sufficiently low. All reactors contain catalysts which after activation comprise mixed sulfides of Co or Ni and Mo or W supported on γ-alumina (A1 2 O 3 ) as high-surface-area carrier. |
