The invention also provides a process for producing a photovoltaic device, which photovoltaic device comprises a component for transporting charge, which component comprises an electrically insulating matrix and, disposed in said matrix, carbon nanotubes functionalized with a semiconducting polymer, which process comprises: (a) providing a substrate and, disposed on a surface of the substrate, carbon nanotubes functionalized with a semiconducting polymer; and (b) disposing an electrically insulating matrix onto the carbon nanotubes functionalized with a semiconducting polymer.
