A compound represented by general formula (I) (all the symbols in general formula (I) are as indicated in the description), a salt thereof, an N-oxide thereof, solvates of these, and prodrugs of these exhibit selective EP2 agonist activity, and high safety, and thus are useful as pharmaceuticals, and, in particular, as therapeutic agents for medical conditions associated with the EP2 receptor, such as immunological diseases, allergic diseases, nerve-cell death, dysmenorrhea, premature birth, miscarriage, baldness, ocular diseases, erectile dysfunction, arthritis, lung injury, pulmonary fibrosis, emphysema, bronchitis, chronic obstructive respiratory disease, osteopathy, and cartilage damage.
