abstract |
[Problem] To provide a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) film that can be used to easily manufacture an optical film such as a polarized film having narrow color irregularities that do not stand out visually as irregularities and a method for manufacturing such a PVA film. [Solution] Provided are: a PVA film for which the maximum value of the distance between neighboring peaks is 6 cm or less in the distribution of the angles of an orientation axis, as determined by measuring the angles of the orientation axis within the surface of the film at a 0.8 mm pitch in the width direction of the film; and a method for manufacturing a PVA film that comprises a step in which, when a film-forming undiluted solution that contains PVA is extruded in a film form onto a support body from an extrusion opening of an extrusion device and dried to manufacture a PVA film, air is blown onto the extruded film at an airflow rate of 0.3-5 m/s within ten seconds or less immediately after extrusion. |
