This layered-double-hydroxide-containing composite material is provided with a porous substrate and a non-permeable functional layer which is formed on and/or in the porous substrate, and comprises a layered double hydroxide represented by this general formula: M 2+ n 1-x M 3+ n x (OH) 2 A n- n x/n ·mH 2 O (In the formula, M 2+ is a bivalent cation, M 3+ is a trivalent cation, A n- is an n-valent anion, n is an integer of 1 or higher, x is 0.1-0.4, and m is 0 or higher).
