abstract | The invention relates to a method for predicting the risk of suffering symptomatic hemorrhagic transformation in response to the treatment with a thrombolytic agent in an ischemic stroke patient based on the determination of the level of Nurrl in a sample of said patient. Furthermore the invention relates to a composition comprising a Nurrl inhibitor and a thrombolytic agent and to a pharmaceutical preparation comprising the composition of the invention and a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient or carrier. The invention also relates to the use of an inhibitor of Nurrl in the treatment of cytotoxicity associated to the treatment with a thrombolytic agent and to the use of the composition and the pharmaceutical preparation of the invention in the treatment of ischemic stroke. |
