abstract |
The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a cell aggregate containing a ciliary marginal zone-like structure, the method comprising a step for culturing a retinal tissue-containing cell aggregate, wherein the percentage of Chx10-positive cells present in the retinal tissue is 20% to 100%, in a serum-free medium or serum medium containing a Wnt signal pathway-affecting substance and a FGF signal pathway-inhibiting substance only in the period until cells expressing RPE65 gene appear, and then the obtained "cell aggregates in which RPE65 gene-expressing cells have not appeared" are cultured in a serum-free medium or serum medium that does not contain a Wnt signal pathway-affecting substance. The manufacturing method according to the present invention makes it possible to manufacture ciliary marginal zone-like structures with high efficiency. |
