A method for recovering petroleum from underground petroleum reservoirs, wherein an aqueous formulation containing at least one water-soluble hydrophobically associating copolymer is injected via at least one injection bore into a petroleum reservoir at a reservoir temperature ranging from 20°C to 120°C, and crude petroleum is extracted from the reservoir via at least one production bore; the water-soluble copolymer contains at least acrylamide or derivatives thereof and a mixture containing at least two amphiphilic macromonomers. |
