abstract The present invention relates to an elastomeric composition with barrier property, comprising at least one elastomer, low molecular-weight PIB and at least one crosslinking agent. Also described is a method for preparing said elastomeric composition comprising the steps of (i) mixing the elastomer and the low molecular-weight PIB in a mixer; and (ii) adding the crosslinking agent. The elastomeric composition has improved processability without any degradation of mechanical properties, which are particularly essential for use in pneumatic tires.
