abstract The present invention relates to a compound of Formula I (as described herein), isolated from the microorganism belonging to Actinomycetes (PM1180133), having antibacterial activity, particularly against Mycobacterium tuberculosis strain. The present invention relates to a method for the treatment of tuberculosis, comprising administering to a subject in need thereof, a therapeutically effective amount of the compound of Formula I or the compound of Formula Ia, or its isomer(s), a tautomer, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or a solvate thereof. The present invention further relates to a pharmaceutical composition comprising the compound of Formula I or the compound of Formula Ia, and at least one pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, for use in the treatment of tuberculosis.
