abstract A method, base station and user equipment for selecting and configuring a transmission mode are disclosed in the present invention. The method comprises that: the base station determines information of self-interference cancellation capability of a full duplex apparatus and information of the signal-to-noise ratio of the target signal received by the full duplex apparatus; the base station determines the transmission mode of the full duplex apparatus according to the information of the self-interference cancellation capability of the full duplex apparatus and the information of the signal-to-noise ratio of the target signal received by the full duplex apparatus, wherein the transmission mode includes a full duplex mode and a half duplex mode. According to the embodiments of the present invention, the base station determines the transmission mode of the full duplex apparatus according to the information of the self-interference cancellation capability of the full duplex apparatus and the information of the signal-to-noise ratio of the target signal received by the full duplex apparatus, therefore avoiding the influence of the strong self-interference on the system and thus improving the performance of the full duplex system.
