abstract Provided are: a 1,5-pentamethylene diamine of biomass origin, which supplies a polyamide resin composition having an excellent hue; and a method for producing same. This 1,5-pentamethylene diamine contains a maximum of 150 ppm by weight as the total of acetamide, 2,3,4,5-tetrahydropyridine, 2-piperidone, α-amino-ε-caprolactam, lysine, and ornithine which are contained in 1,5-pentamethylene as impurities.
