abstract A shaft seal (24) is proposed, comprising an annular base body (26), the one outer surface (28) thereof forming a sealing surface running in the circumferential direction, and from the other, opposing outer surface (32) thereof at least two circumferential sealing lips (34, 36) extend radially, between which an outer cavity (38), open to the outside, is delimited. In order to enable a suitable coupling for pressure medium transmission between a fixed body (14) and a rotatable body (12) arranged coaxial thereto, the shaft seal (24) is characterized by a pressure medium inlet (54) in an outer wall of the base body (26) and a pressure medium outlet (56), which discharges into the outer cavity (38) and is in fluid connection with the inlet (54).
