abstract An ingestible sensor (400) according to an embodiment is provided with a sensor unit (430), a detection unit (420), and a transmission unit (480); the ingestible sensor (400) is excreted without being digested or absorbed when mixed with food and introduced into the body. The sensor unit (430) detects a prescribed substance within the body. The detection unit (420) detects whether or not the sensor unit (430) has entered the body. The transmission unit (480) transmits information about the substance detected by the sensor unit (430) to a communication device outside the body on the basis of the detection unit (420) having detected that the sensor (430) has entered the body.
