The present invention includes a modified macrophage comprising a monocyte, a primary macrophage, or macrophage cell line transformed to overexpress pigment epithelium-derived factor, a method of a modified macrophage comprising: isolating a monocyte, a primary macrophage, or a macrophage cell line; and transforming the monocyte, primary macrophage, or macrophage cell line with a vector that overexpress pigment epithelium-derived factor and uses thereof, wherein the modified macrophages or monocytes are used to treat kill cancer cells, including metastatic cancer cells. |
