titleOfInvention | Voltammetric sensor |
abstract | A voltammetric sensor has a working electrode and a counter electrode, each for making contact with an analyte. The porosity of the counter electrode accessible to the analyte is higher than the porosity of the working electrode accessible to the analyte. This increases the capacitance between the counter electrode and the analyte (or electrolyte in which the analyte is received). This capacitance increase results in reduced voltage drop at the electrode interface, thereby reducing or eliminating electrochemical reactions at the counter electrode. |
