titleOfInvention Reduction of errors of a rotating device used during the determination of co-ordinates of a workpiece or during the machining of a workpiece
abstract The invention relates to a method for reducing errors in a rotating device (11) during the determination of co-ordinates of a workpiece (13) or during the machining of a workpiece (13), the rotating device (11) permitting rotational motion of the workpiece (13) about a rotational axis of the rotating device (11) during the determination of the co-ordinates or during the machining of the workpiece (13). Said method comprises the following steps: a) a first workpiece (13) is positioned on the rotating device (11); b) a co-ordinate measuring device for measuring co-ordinates of a surface of the first workpiece (13) is positioned at a first circumferential position with respect to the circumferential direction of the rotational axis; c) the first workpiece (13) is rotated about the rotational axis by the rotating device (11) whilst a first course of the surface of the first workpiece (13), which revolves around the rotational axis as a result of the rotation of said first workpiece (13), is measured by the measuring device at the first circumferential position, such that corresponding first measuring signals of the first course are generated; d) the measuring device is positioned at a second circumferential position with respect to the circumferential direction of the rotational axis, said second position differing from the first circumferential position; e) the first workpiece (13) is rotated about the rotational axis by the rotational device (11) whilst a second course of the surface of the first workpiece (13), which revolves around the rotational axis as a result of the rotation of said first workpiece (13), is measured by the measuring device at the second circumferential position, such that corresponding second measuring signals of the second course are generated; f) optionally, steps d) and e) are repeated at least once, such that corresponding additional measuring signals of the additional courses are generated; g) the first, second and the optionally additional measuring signals are used as a starting point, from which redundant surface information and error information contained in said signals are separated out from one another, the redundant surface information relating to the surface of the first workpiece (13) revolving around the rotational axis and the error information relating to errors in the rotating device (11) resulting from deviations between actual positions and actual orientations of the rotational axis on one hand and respective corresponding ideal positions and ideal orientations of the rotational axis on the other hand.
