abstract Provided is a quantitative analysis method for the active power load capability of a power grid based on mapping elastic potential energy. Based on a mapped elastic mechanical network model of the power grid, the mapped elastic potential energy of a power grid branch is obtained by means of branch state mapping. The mapped elastic potential energy of the power grid is obtained by using potential energy superposition. Analysis discovers and simulations verify that the mapped elastic potential energy can be used as a quantitative analysis index of the active power load capability of the power grid. The method enriches the theoretical basis of power grid safety analysis, and can be widely applied to power grid planning, operation mode analysis, online dispatching, and the like.
