abstract | The present invention relates to a novel use of SDC2 (NM_002998, syndecan 2) gene as a methylation biomarker for detecting precancerous lesions and, more specifically, to a use for diagnosing, at an early stage, precancerous lesions in the large intestine by measuring the methylation level using the SDC2 gene as a biomarker. The present invention has an effect of providing a method for giving information for diagnosis of the precancerous lesions by detecting CpG methylation of syndecan 2 gene for the precancerous lesions in the large intestine. Also, using the methylation detection method and a kit for detection according to the present invention, it is possible to diagnose bowel cancer at an initial transformation stage, and thus, early diagnosis is possible. In addition, the present invention is useful since it is possible to diagnose the precancerous lesions more accurately and rapidly than conventional methods. |
