A battery control system connected to a battery provided with an anti-explosive mechanism for blocking the current when an overcharge state is reached, the battery control system controlling the state of the battery, wherein the battery control system is provided with: a cell voltage detector for detecting the cell voltage of the battery; a memory unit for storing information pertaining to the state of the battery; an overcharge determining unit for determining whether or not the battery is in an overcharge state; a memory controller for causing the memory unit to store overcharge information pertaining to the overcharge state of the battery when it is determined by the overcharge determining unit that the battery is in an overcharge state; and an anti-explosion assessment unit for assessing that the anti-explosion mechanism has operated in the battery if, when the battery control system is launched, the overcharge information is stored in the memory unit and the cell voltage detected by the cell voltage detector is less than a prescribed lower limit value. |
