Provided is a method for preparing VIB-group metal oxide particles or dispersions thereof, the VIB-group metals being tungsten and/or molybdenum and the method comprising: 1) provision of VIB-group metal oxide precursors, a reducing agent and a supercritical fluid; 2) reacting said VIB-group metal oxide precursors and reducing agent in the supercritical fluid in a supercritical state so as to obtain VIB-group metal oxide particles or dispersions thereof. The described particles or their dispersions can be used in window glass for residential, architectural, automotive and shipboard purposes, providing exceptional blocking of near-infrared and ultraviolet radiation while retaining high transparency, and thus realizing control of sunlight and of thermal radiation. |
