| abstract | The invention relates to a system for distributing software applications on POS payment terminals through an architecture of the client- server type wherein the POS terminal is the client and it comprises an interpreter for a high-level programming language not related to the type of POS used, which client is able to communicate with the peripherals of the terminal, by using specific libraries of the terminal itself, and with the server by means of procedures allowing remote processing requests to be sent, the server comprising software applications that can access a database interfaced or interfaceable with said server directly or through suitable gateways and that are able to receive and process the requests of the client for providing structured data as a response, the client- server communication being possible to be sporadic and limited only to the exchange of said requests and the relevant data. |
