abstract |
The invention relates to a single-layer plastic container with light-shielding inorganic fillers which provide very good light shielding, even virtually absolute shielding across the entire spectrum in a container that is very light. The plastic structure of the container comprises at least two different types of thermoplastic polymers that co-operate in forming the structure of the container, and the light-shielding inorganic fillers comprise at least two different types of inorganic substances that co-operate in forming the light shield. Owing to the composition of the plastic structure and the efficient combination of light-shielding inorganic fillers it is possible to obtain variable light shielding, up to providing virtually full shielding, in very light single-layer containers without the need for the complex and costly multi-layer structures normally used to provide near-absolute shielding levels, all achieved using traditional production processes and equipment. |
